GO NUTS FOR CHIA

Patrick’s favourite “all-rounder” seed is chia – a seed which was part of the staple diet of the peoples of pre-BC Meso-America. This ancient seed is superior to flax seed (Patrick’s other favourite seed) because it is higher in Omega-3 and is much lower in sodium. Chia is the highest vegetarian source of Omega-3 fats, is high in fibre and contains more protein – at 20% –  than many other grains.

Patrick consumes 15g of chia a day and one of his favourite nutrient and energy boosters is a delicious drink containing chia. See the recipe below and try it today to up your Omega-3 and fibre intake.
